I find that there are few things more rewarding in gardening than growing plants from seed. It saves money and lets you grow a variety of really cool plants that aren’t locally available. More than that though there is a feeling of satisfaction you get when you harvest from those plants you grew. Starting tomato and pepper plants from seed is very simple and can be done with a variety of methods.
In the video below I used 1020 flats nested within each other. The flats with holes are inside the flats without holes which allows by seeds to maintain plenty of moisture through germination. Once I have good germination I can remove the flat without the holes. For planting medium I used a seed starting mix. You can make your own seed starting mix or purchase it which is what I did.
